This year’s theme “Our World, Our Future” was widely interpreted by the young artists thus creating Imaginative visions of how things could turn out.
Since the annual Peace Poster Contest was introduced in 1988 millions of young people aged 11 to 13 years, from over 100 countries, have taken part. With a different peace theme every year the contest encourages learners, their art teachers, families and Lions to focus on the need for and meaning of peace in their lives.
The winning entry by 13 year old Mikaela Tuck of Springfield Convent will now go to the Lions national judging in November.
South Africa has had one international contest winner in 1999 and many merit award winners since then.
